Miriam Mclean is an artist based on the Gold Coast, Australia. After taking a year out to explore a Visual Arts Diploma in 2016, she fell in love with the breadth of possibility found in clay. Working at Mas & Miek Ceramic House over the next 4 years, she taught Hand-Building and Wheel Throwing while in her own time exploring various concepts and prototypes, stretching the clay and herself to new limits.
Miriam allows spontaneity and curiosity to rule and reimagines pottery in a different way with a contemporary style that is a free-flowing fusion of architectural inspiration meeting natural integration. Her hand-built and wheel thrown signature ceramic tableware, homewares and sculptural pieces ebb and flow between the colourful, decorative finishes to the minimalist beauty of stripped back, raw clay.
Ever evolving, her work is bold, unexpected and made to stand out and take up space, whether it be in size, shape or colour.
